Mishna 16:

  1. Why is Rabban Gamliel repeating the rule about making for yourself a teacher? We already learned that in Mishna 6?
  2. How do you deal with religious doubts?
  3. Does making for yourself a Rabbi help with religious doubts? How or how not?
  4. Since when do we not want someone to give too much charity? What is wrong with giving in excess?

Mishna 17:

  1. What role did growing up amongst the Sages have on Shimon?
  2. How do we create the appropriate environment for children to grow up in?
  3. Shimon in the Mishna relates how silence is the ideal. Yet, at the same time, we know all too well of the dangers of silence to persecution and oppression. When is it best to be silent, and how should we know?
  4. Is silence always ideal? Even during Torah study?!
  5. How is silence good for the body?

Mishna 18:

  1. How does this Mishna relate to Mishna 2 which discussed the three pillars the world stands on?
  2. What is the difference between these two Mishna’s?
